Our practical guidance uses explicit measuring examples and links to manufacturer or industry sources where a recommendation depends on them. These are researched buying guides; hands-on product reviews will be identified when published.
How to read the numbers
Worked examples show their dimensions and arithmetic so you can substitute your own measurements. A styling starting point is attributed to its source. Connection limits, mounting clearances and replacement parts come from the exact model’s instructions. We do not publish a universal set-count limit or a made-up retail price range.
How specific products will be considered
Fit for a real task
A product needs a clear purpose and an identifiable exact model. We look for dimensions, use restrictions, compatibility, included parts and meaningful limitations.
Evidence before a claim
Manufacturer specifications can support a specification. They do not establish our own experience, durability testing or a universal “best” ranking. Availability and important details need checking against the exact listing.
An image of the actual item
A product recommendation should show the exact item using imagery we can appropriately publish. AI decorating scenes are not substitutes for product photography.
A useful reason to choose it
A future shortlist should explain who an item suits, who should pass and what else is needed. Similar products do not earn a place just to make a list longer.
Hands-on means hands-on
When original testing or a setup is published, it should identify what was used, how it was evaluated and the limits of that experience. There are no invented test scores, customer ratings or owner quotes on this site.
Images and prices
Our decorating scenes are AI-created inspiration and are labeled accordingly. They illustrate mood, color and composition, not tested products or verified installations. Planning diagrams explain measurements or layout; they do not depict a specific product. The planner uses prices you enter, not live retailer data.
